Privacy & Cookies
Last updated: 20 October 2026
Everything Nottingham Forest (“we”, “us”) is a news site that collects Forest headlines from other publishers and links you to their stories. This page explains what information is collected when you use the site and what choices you have. If you have any questions, email [email protected].
Analytics Cookies (Only If You Agree)
If you tap Allow on our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages are popular. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_… on your device and sends Google information such as the pages you view, roughly where you are (country/city), your device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We use this only to see how the site is used and improve it — never for advertising.
Google provides this service and may process the information outside the UK, including in the United States. Google Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months. You can read how Google uses this information at policies.google.com.
If you tap No thanks, or don't choose, Google Analytics does not load at all. You can change your mind at any time:
Counting Visits (No Cookies)
Our own server counts how many times each kind of page is viewed each day, so we know how the site is doing. To count how many different people visit each day without identifying anyone, it makes a scrambled code from your IP address and browser type that can't be turned back into either. The code changes every day and is deleted after two days. We also keep a short list of the most recent visits (the time, the page, the website or app the visit came from, and the type of device and browser, such as "Android phone, Chrome"), so we can check the numbers are real people rather than robots; it holds nothing that identifies you, and only the last 80 visits are kept. Nothing is stored on your device and nothing is shared with anyone else.
Things Stored Only on Your Device (No Consent Needed)
These are saved in your browser's storage on your own phone or computer. They are never sent to us, and they only exist to make features you use work:
ea_read_articles— stories you've hidden (your Archive)ea_saved_articles— stories you've Savedea_theme— whether you picked Light or Dark modeea_consent— your cookie choice, so we don't ask every visitea_push_key,ea_push_saved,ea_push_topics— only if you turn on alerts, so your device stays signed upea_topics— the topics you've turned off with "My topics"ea_fan— your reactions and poll votes, so the site can show which ones you picked (see below)
You can remove these at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Reactions and Fans' Polls (Only If You Use Them)
When you tap a reaction on a story or vote in a fans' poll, your browser makes a random code the first time and sends it with your tap, so each phone gets one vote per poll and one reaction per story. The code isn't linked to your name or anything else about you, and we only keep a scrambled version of it with your vote. To stop one connection sending hundreds of votes, we also count votes against a scrambled code made from your IP address and browser type, which can't be turned back into it. Votes are deleted after 90 days.
Match Alerts (Only If You Turn Them On)
If you turn on alerts (in the menu under Alerts, or with a "Get match alerts" button) and allow notifications, your browser gives us an anonymous address to send alerts to, through your browser's own push service (for example Google's, Apple's or Mozilla's). It doesn't include your name, email or phone number. We keep it, with the list of alerts you chose (live matches, line-ups, previews, match reports, round-ups or the quiz), only to send those alerts, and it's deleted when you turn alerts off (or the next time we try to send one, if you've blocked notifications or removed the app).
Our Web Host
Our hosting provider, IONOS, may automatically record basic technical information — such as your IP address, the page requested and the time — in server logs, to keep the site secure and running. Visits also pass through Cloudflare, which provides the site's secure connection and may handle the same basic technical information for the same purpose.
Links to Other Sites
When you tap a story, you go to the original publisher's website (for example BBC Sport or the Guardian). Their own privacy and cookie policies apply there. When you use the Share button, your phone's own share feature is used — we don't see what you share or who you share it with.
Your Rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete personal information about you, object to how it's used, and withdraw your consent at any time. Email [email protected]. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change how we use cookies or information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
