Forest Morning Round-Up, Saturday 31st October 2026: Forest Linked with Rivalling Man Utd for Mateta as Brentford Clash Looms
A big transfer story leads the way this morning, with reports claiming Nottingham Forest could go head-to-head with Manchester United in the race for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, amid suggestions the Frenchman is increasingly likely to leave Selhurst Park in January (TeamTalk). It's one to file under speculation for now, but certainly an eye-catching claim to wake up to (TeamTalk).
On the pitch, Oliver Glasner has been having his say ahead of today's Premier League trip to Brentford, with the Forest boss calling on his squad to "take responsibility" as they head to the capital for what's being billed as a key clash (Nottingham Post).
That match at Brentford is the big event on the horizon today, so all eyes will be on how Glasner's side respond to his demands when the two sides meet this afternoon (Nottingham Post).
